One Therapy That Heals Many Health Problems

CAM is a group of diverse medical and health-care systems, practices, and products that are not generally considered part of conventional medicine. You’ve been told that you need a different pill to cure every ailment that you’re suffering from. But what if there was one treatment that took care of many illnesses? Better yet: it’s not even a drug or a prescription pill.

Here is a case study of one patient who was suffering from a whole host of health problems. You might be able to relate to this situation. All too often, when we have one health complaint such as fatigue, we also suffer from another health complaint like arthritis. These sorts of things seem to come in pairs. Now, imagine if you have two health complaints—let’s say diabetes and urinary tract infections—do the math and, in reality, you end up with at least four health problems.

But don’t despair; this article isn’t meant to be bad news—in fact, it’s the exact opposite. Because, in the story we’re about to tell you, one patient with a whole litany of health problems was able to cure herself with just one treatment. We’ll call this patient “Case Report No.23.”

These were the health conditions she was suffering from on a daily basis:

• Rheumatoid arthritis

• Osteoporosis

• Raynaud’s disease

• Fatigue

• Irritable bowel syndrome

• Constipation

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease

• Menopausal symptoms

• Chronic urinary tract infections

• Upper respiratory infections

• Weight gain

Needless to say, patient No. 23 was taking a lot of medication—and suffering from a lot of their side effects! She took “Arthrotec” for pain and inflammation. Noted side effects for this medication include life-threatening heart or circulation problems, such as heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long-term. This medication can also have serious effects on the stomach or intestines, including bleeding or perforation (forming of a hole).

Patient No. 23 was also taking “Fosamax” to treat her osteoporosis. The side effects for this drug include serious problems in the stomach or esophagus (those who take it need to stand upright for at least 30 minutes after taking it). In addition, the patient was taking “Catapres,” a hypertension-treating drug that can impair your thinking and reactions.

At the time of the trial, this patient had decided to discontinue taking “Plaqueril,” a drug that can cause irreversible damage to the retina when taken for a long time, against the advice of her rheumatologist.

So what happened to patient No. 23? How did she manage to recover from such a seemingly hopeless place? Basic lab tests were performed to identify imbalances in her body that were the causes of many of her illnesses. Then, the patient used complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) treatments to address each health imbalance. Dietary, nutritional, hormonal, and mind/body support were all used synergistically to improve her symptoms.

After one year of following these treatments, (after all, they take time to work and heal the body from the inside out), patient No. 23 was able to discontinue several of her medications, thereby avoiding the negative side effects. There was a notable improvement in her bone density. She also learned to identify and avoid triggers such as food and environmental allergies. The last piece of the puzzle was to utilize CAM therapy to reduce her stress levels.

Case studies like this one just show you that filling out a prescription is not always the best answer. You have to understand the underlying issues that affect your own health and treat those root causes, instead of just treating a symptom. This patient didn’t completely neglect her medication—after all, there are times when it’s necessary—but she was able to scale back heavily, which made a huge difference in her life, her well-being and her own health.

This is a real success story and attests to the potential of alternative medicine to heal the body, given a little bit of time.
