Alternative Cancer TreatmentsWe often see tragic news stories about death on a daily basis—fatalities resulting from plane crashes, deadly fires, shootings or worse. But we don’t often hear about the casualties caused by one of the leading diseases known to man—cancer.

Each year, nearly two million  Americans are diagnosed with cancer; with the number of deaths totaling 173.8 per 100,000 men and women per year! Despite the advanced technology available, this number accurate, with no decline anticipated.

The stats speak for themselves:

  • In the 1900s, one in 20 people was diagnosed with cancer
  • In the 1940s, one in 16 people was diagnosed with cancer
  • In the 1970s, the statistic skyrocketed to one in 10 people being diagnosed with cancer
  • Today, a staggering one in three people is being diagnosed with cancer

What’s going on? The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that in 2013, there were 1.66 million new cancer cases that have been reported. Yet, mortality rates are declining rapidly in the U.S., from one in 42 Americans dying in 1900 to one in 125 people dying in the late 20th century—a decline of 67%. It raises the question: If the overall death rates are falling, why are cancer incidents on the rise?’

Why Aren’t Alternative Cancer Treatments Accepted?

With billions of dollars spent on treatments over the years, one would believe that there would be a cure for cancer already. However, that money is not being spent on the cure—it’s being spent to treat cancer. Why would the cancer industry not want to cure cancer, you ask? The answer is simple: Why would you shut down an industry that is making money off of two million people on average each year?

If there was a natural cure for cancer, the industry would lose all of the money that they make off of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, diagnostic procedures and surgeries. These procedures are not cheap; on average a typical cancer patient will spend at least $50,000 fighting the cancer disease. That does not even touch the surface of how expensive it is to fight the disease.

A month’s worth of chemotherapy drugs can cost anywhere from $3,000 to $7,000, which is by far the most expensive treatment for any cancer patient.

If the cancer industry introduced a natural cure, their client base would deteriorate. It makes a lot more sense to keep the patient base alive, but sick, at the same time. If your client base is sick, they will come back for more treatments—this means more money being spent. The patient base believes there’s hope to be healed, and the patient base will continue to grow.

This industry has become a monster. But the question that arises is: when did the cancer industry decide to go down this path?

The Turning Point

In the early 1900s, the pharmaceutical industry decided to partner with the American Medical Association (AMA) in a plan to take over the medical system. Their plan consisted of three easy steps:

1. The international bankers that owned and controlled the drug and chemical companies would gain control over the medical education system.

2. The pharmaceutical industry would give grants to the AMA, in exchange for seats on their board, and the complete ability to control the policies.

3. The pharmaceutical industry would control every federal regulatory agency that was related to the sole purpose of practicing medicine.

At the end of the day, the pharmaceutical industry’s sole purpose was to have its hand in every pocket of every physician and medical facility. The industry succeeded. In this day and age—before a prescription drug is released, before reducing prices for treatments or prescription drugs—it needs to pass through the pharmaceutical industry. In reality, if there was a natural cure for cancer, or any disease for that matter; it would need to pass through the pharmaceutical industry before being released.

The Unfortunate Reality

Despite the enormous amount of money that is being put into cancer research, two out of three cancer patients will be dead within five years of being diagnosed—even after receiving treatment. One recent study estimates that chemotherapy only benefits one out of 20 people who receive it. This is not to say that there haven’t been hundreds of natural cancer treatments that have been developed and used successfully.

The reason why we never hear about them is because they have been pushed under the rug, hidden and silenced by the medical industry. Some researchers and physicians are even being charged, or sent to prison, for thinking about defying the medical establishment and its client base.

As citizens, we may think that coming up with alternative treatments and remedies is harmless, but to the pharmaceutical and medical industries, any treatment that does not come through them is seen as “competition”—and when there is competition, there always has to be a winner.

So, with all of this said, it’s doubly important that we always talk about natural prevention tips and potential alternative treatments. Now let’s take a look at cancer prevention strategies that you can use to reduce the risk of getting cancer.

1. Food Preparation

One natural way to reduce the risk of getting cancer is through proper food preparation. Eat one-third of your food raw, and avoid frying or charbroiling your food. As an alternative, try boiling, poaching or even steaming your food. You may not like the taste as much at first, but in the long run, it will help reduce your risk of getting cancer. Add natural, cancer-fighting whole foods, spices or even herbs into your diet. Some of these foods include broccoli, curcumin and resveratrol (a compound that is typically found in the skins of red grapes).

2. Protein and Fat

Reduce your protein level to one gram per kilogram of your lean body weight. In most cases, it is not necessary for the average person to consume more then 100 grams of protein a day, usually half of that would be the proper amount. You can also consider replacing the excess protein with some high-quality-fats. Some examples include organic eggs, plant-derived proteins, avocados, and coconut oil.

3. Exercise

Did you know that exercise can decrease insulin resistance? Insulin is a hormone that helps the body use blood sugar for energy. Insulin resistance occurs when there is a rise in blood sugar—this can increase the risk of certain cancers. Exercise, however, can help improve insulin sensitivity. In a three-month study of cancer survivors who had recently completed chemotherapy, it was discovered that exercise altered the immune cells into a stronger, disease-fighting form.

Researchers also found that by exercising daily you can trigger apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells! Apoptosis are cells that are deemed dangerous to the organism and are eventually destroyed. So ideally, by exercising, the body can induce apoptosis to get rid of cancer cells. To trigger this, your exercise routine must have a balance of strength, flexibility and high-intensity interval training.

4. Sleep

Another simple, but natural, cancer treatment is rest. By not getting enough rest, you could interfere with your melatonin production, which is linked to the increased risk of insulin resistance, and possible weight gain—both of which can contribute to cancer.

5. Stress Management

There is no natural cure to cancer. But if you can better manage the stress in your life, then you can help prevent, or even manage, cancer. The CDC states that 85% of all diseases are caused by emotional factors. It is likely that the cause is more emotional than physical. Try to stay positive, or do exercises that can help alleviate stress—it is a natural cancer treatment that money cannot buy.

Other Cancer Treatment Alternatives

If you feel that you’re not winning your battle against cancer, there are other alternatives you can try:

1. Acupuncture

For those who are not familiar with acupuncture, it is a treatment where a practitioner inserts small needles into your skin at certain points. Studies have proven that acupuncture can be helpful in relieving the nausea which is caused by chemotherapy. The procedure is done by licensed practitioners who use sterile needles. If you have low blood cell count, I do not recommend you try acupuncture without consulting your doctor first.

2. Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a state of concentration, where the therapist hypnotizes you by talking to you in a gentle voice, which helps you relax. The therapist will then help you focus on goals. For cancer patients, this might include controlling your pain and reducing stress. When you are calm, your brain registers goals a lot easier than it would if you were stressed.

3. Music Therapy

Music therapy sessions can include you listening to music, playing instruments, singing songs or even writing lyrics. These activities are designed to help you meet your specific needs and goals. They can also surprisingly help relieve pain, and control nausea caused from chemotherapy. The sound of music is calming, which relaxes the body, and writing lyrics can divert your thoughts from pain to something more positive.

A Word to the Wise

Although there is no alternative cure for cancer yet, we have to always remain optimistic and positive. It is apparent that the medical industry is not working to cure cancer, but to treat it. Because many of us do not have thousands of dollars to cure the disease, we have to work together to try to prevent it or treat it ourselves. If we try using natural remedies and alternative treatments for cancer, we can fight this disease on our own, instead of emptying our pockets to be at the mercy of the pharmaceutical industry.
