Sarah (01:25)
You can depend on the Doctors’ Health Press for unbiased information based on strict research credentials. Now, with my background in nutrition, I’m always excited to hear about something new that can help people combat illness without the use of prescription drugs. I’m an avid believer in using food as medicine, as I myself actually use this method to help with my own health issues. In fact, getting sick was what actually led me to become a nutritional therapist and I became so passionate about healing naturally that I wanted to help others who felt that conventional medicine wasn’t really working for them, but I’m going to save that story for another episode because our guest today actually has a similar story. Rebecca Hale used to rely on daily medication to treat her chronic health problems, and then she found natural health strategies that helped her ditch the prescriptions and treat herself naturally without the harmful side effects of the medications.
Sarah (02:24)
Rebecca Hale is now a registered health practitioner and is licensed by the Pastoral Medical Association as a diplomat of pastoral science. She’s the owner of Natural Health Strategies where she combines RBTI testing with naturopathic counseling to help her clients overcome chronic illness. Natural health strategies is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and her website is naturalhealthstrategies.org. Rebecca’s testing methods really uncover the root cause of health concerns which aid her in recommending personalized natural health strategies to address the underlying causes of illness and reduce symptoms. So if you feel like conventional medicine alone isn’t working effectively for you, then you really need to listen closely today because RBTI testing could be the solution to your health issues that you may have been searching for. So Rebecca, welcome to the show. We’re so happy to have you join us today.
Rebecca Hale
Thank you. I’m happy to be here.
Sarah
Now. I’ve introduced you a little bit, but, can you maybe go more in depth and start off by telling us a little more about yourself and how you became the owner of natural health strategies?
Rebecca Hale (03:41)
Sure. So, yes, I am a natural health practitioner and I got into this field after I overcame lots of my own health problems. So starting from a young age, I just had various health issues going on, lots of digestive struggles, chronic allergies, chronic sinus infections, bad acne, weight gain that I couldn’t seem to take control of. And by the age of 21 I was taking about five medications daily to address those symptoms. At the time I was an accountant and I did later become a tax accountant before I got into natural health natural health strategies. But I started to get frustrated with the modern medicine model and started the question if it was still going to be effective for me. As the years went on, if it wasn’t working for me at a young age. So I decided to try different natural health techniques and to my surprise they worked and they worked really, really well and eventually I was able to get off of those medications completely. It’s now been four and a half years since I’ve taken any prescription or over the counter drugs, so that’s how I got into it because of the success that I had. I got super passionate about it and decided to go back to school and study in more detail and then later to start at natural health strategies, my business to help others learn some of the things that I learned.
Sarah (05:09)
So you’ve really got that kind of personal story behind you so you can really relate to a lot of your clients who come to you that do feel fed up with the medical system being bounced around.
Rebecca Hale (05:23)
Oh yes. I can totally relate. I took medication after medication. I went to so many different doctors and just had a really hard time finding any answers that were helpful.
Sarah (05:33)
Now in your business today, natural health strategies, you specialize in something called RBTI testing, is that right? That’s right, yes. And so now I’m going to admit this is something I’m totally unfamiliar with, and I only actually just came across your website and it got me interested. So can you share with our listeners what RBTI testing stands for? And kind of explained exactly what it is.
Rebecca Hale (06:02)
Absolutely. So RBTI testing stands for Reams Biological Theory of Ionization. It’s a mouthful. So that’s why we just use the acronym RBTI for the most part. Some people referred to it as testing as well. It looks at the balance of the body chemistry and so it’s helpful because they can show how well a person is absorbing nutrients, how, while they’re getting rid of toxins, how well energy is transferring to the body among various other things. And so that can start to pinpoint some of the root causes of various symptoms. And so by addressing the balance of the body chemistry, we can start to, relieve some of those symptoms naturally.
Sarah (06:46)
Okay. So like you said, you’re looking at the biochemistry of the body trying to find that balance. So what, what happens then, how do you take those results and then balance the body? Is it through nutrition and supplements?
Rebecca Hale (07:02)
Absolutely. So it’s always all natural. I always tell people I like to keep it natural, practical and affordable. And so we’ll use some combination of food changes, lifestyle changes, herbs, natural supplements or homeopathic remedies. So not usually all five of those things at once, but a combination of those things to address the various imbalances and to bring the body back into the ideal ranges.
Sarah (07:31)
Okay. And what are some of the factors that you do look at when you’re analyzing the results of someone’s tests?
Rebecca Hale (07:39)
Sure. So the factors, the test factors will look at things like a person’s blood sugar levels, their PH, how much electrical conductivity they have, among other things. And then other factors that of course we take into consideration our know, what is their current diet and lifestyle, like what is their medications, are they on, how long have they been dealing with these symptoms? So that’s kind of the benefit of working with a naturopath is that it’s very holistic in the sense that we look at all angles of your diet and lifestyle before we make recommendations.
Sarah (08:18)
Okay. And now, can RBTI testing almost predict an illness from looking at these factors as well as treating almost that someone may be dealing with at the moment. Can it do both things?
Rebecca Hale (08:31)
Yeah. So I always have to be careful about what language they use. I don’t treat any illnesses. I don’t diagnose any illnesses, but I can’t address the balance of the body chemistry and help to reduce people’s symptoms basically. But yeah, certain markers in the testing can show if certain organs in the body or stressed or if things stay out of balance for an period of time that it’s more likely that an illness could occur. So by getting the body into balance and keeping it in balance, it is very likely that it will help to prevent illnesses in the future. And absolutely. So if we can bring the body back into balance and the body can start to absorb nutrients and get rid of toxins like it should, then the body is much more likely to able to overcome current illnesses as well.
Sarah (09:21)
Okay. So if somebody comes to you and you look at some of their biochemistry and let’s for example, say their glucose is out of whack, are you able to say this person could possibly be down the line, be someone who may deal with diabetes and you may be able to get them back on track and steer them away from that?
Rebecca Hale (09:41)
Yes. So I could say that, you know, by looking at the current test results, it appears that because things are out of balance in a certain way that over time you might be at a higher risk of something like diabetes and then we can use specific foods, lifestyle changes, herbs and supplements to help to nourish the body more effectively and in doing so, help to prevent that from ever occurring.
Sarah (10:10)
Okay. So this testing isn’t just for people who may be feeling unwell or have been bounced around from doctor to doctor although it is great for that, but everyone can benefit from getting this testing done because it could, you know, even though you’re not feeling unwell, you may have imbalances in the body that could down the line lead to an illness.
Rebecca Hale (10:32)
Exactly, exactly. So it’s great for people that are actively trying to overcome certain symptoms, but it’s also great for people that are just health minded and just want to make sure they’re doing everything they can to stay as healthy as they can for as long as possible.
Sarah (10:48)
It seems like everybody nowadays is trying to get off their prescription drugs and I know you said that you had done that successfully. How can the RBTI testing help someone get off of their prescription drugs?
Rebecca Hale (11:02)
So it’s always up to the person whether or not they want to do that. That’s always their decision. I never tell anybody to get off of a certain drug that’s between them and their physician, but if they decide that that’s what they want to do, the benefit of RBTI testing is that by bringing that body into balance and by helping it to get nourished with certain, you know, vitamins and minerals that’s been deficient in for a long period of time, the body will often start to have less of the symptoms that they’re dealing with. So for example, they might notice that their blood sugars start to be more balanced or that their high blood pressure starts to reduce. And so if it’s up to them, they might have a less of a need for that medication. And so over time it’s very likely that they will need less and less of it as long as they can stay consistent with. So they can gradually wean themselves off of it if that’s decide what they want. If they decide that’s what they want to do.
Sarah (12:00)
The one question that I had is what is the difference between the RBTI and testing and just going to have a regular blood tests done from a family doctor? Can’t the family doctor see if your body’s out of balance just from a regular blood test.
Rebecca Hale (12:15)
Yeah, so the benefit of testing is that it looks like a totally different perspective on the body. So what happens a lot is I have clients come in and they say, you know, I just don’t feel good. I have energy problems. I have chronic headaches, my digestion’s out of whack, like I just don’t know what’s going on, but they’ve gone to the doctor. They had gotten the blood tests and all their levels read normal and so they don’t know where to go, but they’ll get an RBTI test done and things are completely out of balance and so it gives them some clues as to why they’re feeling the way they’re feeling and it’s likely that their, their blood test levels just haven’t caught up with those imbalances yet. So if they stayed out of balance for an extended period of time, sure. The blood test would potentially show in balances, but the RBTI test catches it sometimes before that does, and so that’s the benefit if they can just look at a different perspective of the body and by doing so it shows people new ways in which their body needs to be balanced.
Sarah (13:21)
Rebecca, has RBTI testing new or has it been around for quite a few years now?
Rebecca Hale (13:34)
So the theory RBTI, a theory of ionization. The theory was up by Dr Kerry reams in the 1930’s, so no, it’s not a new theory, however, it’s still somewhat unknown by people both in the conventional medical fields and in the natural health fields, but it’s gaining more and more popularity as time goes on.
Sarah (13:55)
Yeah, it seems like such a, an amazing way to catch those imbalances. Like you had said maybe before a doctor’s blood test could catch it. So I think that’s great that it is gaining popularity and giving more people ways to feel better. I mean, I’m always for, modalities that are going to help with health issues.
Rebecca Hale (14:18)
Exactly, exactly. I find that very encouraging and it’s very simple. It’s noninvasive, you know, there’s no needles required, it’s just urine and saliva and so it’s great for people that also maybe have a fear of confronting their health issues because it’s a very comfortable, easy going environment to get the testing done.
Sarah (14:36)
Oh Great. Okay. You just answered my next question. I was gonna ask, how is the testing done? So through urine and saliva then, and then I guess you, the client would then go to you and you would read the results, go through everything for them, is that correct?
Rebecca Hale (14:54)
Yeah, so in my practice I haven’t set up, so every appointment includes a urine and saliva analysis, so like I said, completely noninvasive and then I run the test then and there, so they get the results back in about 10 minutes and we spend an hour going over their test results and mapping out a practical steps that they can take to get their body back into balance and improve their health.
Sarah (15:15)
Oh, that’s great. So there’s not even, you know, waiting a couple of weeks there where the results a pretty instantaneous. That’s great.
Rebecca Hale (15:22)
The best part, yeah. You can get the results back in the same appointment so people can get started right away.
Sarah (15:29)
Is there anyone that can’t do RBTI testing or can it be done on anyone of any age?
Rebecca Hale (15:36)
As long as you can provide a urine and saliva samples.
Sarah
So that would be any age then? Yes, anyone can have an RBTI test done. What suggestions would be implemented and dosages of certain supplements and herbs and things will of course depend on the person’s age and other factors in their lifestyle. But anybody can get an RBTI test done and see the balance of their body chemistry.
Sarah (16:00)
Now, I know you mentioned that it can increase nutrient absorption. So if someone suffers, say from leaky gut, could this then help to heal the gut and help the body absorb those nutrients that it’s been missing out on?
Rebecca Hale (16:15)
Absolutely. So the, the number, the one of the main benefits of RBTI testing is that it by bringing the body back into balance and increases the nutrient absorption. So most of my clients report that they see a huge improvement in their digestion once they’ve balanced their body chemistry. And it’s much simpler than a lot of people think simply by making a couple tweaks to diet, lifestyle and supplement routines can have a huge impact on digestion and things like leaky gut.
Sarah (16:48)
Is there a specific element that you’ve seen the most progress with treating? Would you say it’s digestive issues?
Rebecca Hale (16:57)
Yeah. So once again, I have to be careful with words like treating, you know, I just help address symptoms, but digestion would certainly be up there for sure. Whether it’s constipation, leaky gut, acid reflux, bloating. It seems like most people struggle with digestion on some level. And so that is one of the number one things that people come in for and it’s one of the number one thing that people see improvements in, but it’s certainly not the only thing. People come in all types of things and see improvements on many different levels, including things like energy headaches, the ability to sleep and stay asleep, anxiety, blood pressure levels. Lots of people have seen improvements in those things after getting their body in balance.
Sarah (17:45)
Okay. So it’s kind of an overall health improvement.
Rebecca Hale
Absolutely.
Sarah
So Rebecca, just to tie things up here, can you give our listeners kind of one last tip for those who maybe are frustrated, not getting the help from their conventional doctors that they were hoping to get?
Rebecca Hale (18:05)
Sure. I would recommend that they find a local naturopath and start working with them. A naturopath are great because they look at the body in a very holistic way and they will help devise a simple and practical and affordable plan for you to start overcoming those symptoms and that doesn’t mean they have to give up your prescription medication, but it can just start to give you more control over your health and give you more independence and so that over time you won’t need to add as many into your routine or you may even be able, may even be able to reduce your dosage if that’s what you want to do.
Sarah (18:44)
Okay. Well thank you so much Rebecca. You’ve given us so much information about the RBTI testing and I’m sure a lot of our listeners are gonna head over to your website and, and check out more about it. I know there’s just so many people who do feel frustrated with the medical system and they’re not getting the answers to their problems. So many conventional doctors are just prescribing medications really to put a band aid on the symptoms without dealing with the root of the problem. So once again, thank you so much Rebecca.
Rebecca Hale (19:14)
Thank you Sarah. It’s been a pleasure being on your show
Sarah (19:18)
